blood test results

I had surgery for bowel cancer (right hemicolectomy) over 3 years ago and I have been in the surveillance period since, having blood tests every 6 months and a CT scan annually. The last blood test was in January this year and after a week or two, I received a call from the colorectal nurse about the result. The carcinoembryonic antigen result was elevated and she said it had been this way for over a year (I was unaware of this). She told me my surgeon was happy to leave it until my next blood test in 4 months time and if it then returned raised again, a biopsy would be arranged plus other tests. I have been feeling quite fatigued for several weeks so feel this is a concern. I am naturally concerned & confused.
