I am new here. My wife, aged 60 years, had a tumour in her right liver lobe. She first underwent portal vein embolization procedure. After 5 weeks, on March 26th 2018, she had hepatactomy surgery, by which the tumour was perfectly dissected and removed away from her right liver lobe. Now, she is recovering well. In the biopsy result, they have stated that Vimentin and SMA are positive, whereas other things are negative. Now, my question is whether she urgently needs Chemotherapy treatment? Whether any Tablets like drugs alone are sufficient for long time?

In regards to your question.. we're not medical professionals, so I'm sorry to say I don't have a definitive answer on this for you. The vimentin would definitely concern me if I were in your shoes, though. What have the medical professionals said on this thus far? When it comes to potentially life or death situations, I'm never against getting a second -- or even third opinion, when warranted.
