I'm new to this particular forum, over the last two years I've had a lot of health issues to deal with culminating in finding out my blood pressure is on the high side (my mum has angina and a pacemaker, I've also inherited her eye problems), so next week I'm being fitted with a 24 hr monitor at GP surgery, any one tell me what to expect, many thanks

It is just a bp monitor attached to your arm with a small box on a belt around your tummy which will be taking readings at half hour intervals during the day and hourly during the night.
You return the machine the following day and the readings are collated and passed back to your gp who will decide if you do in fact need bp meds.
