After paying for a complete suite of Randox blood tests. The week before i went to see the doctor as i was having pain when going to the bathroom the gp prescribed me cortizone cream. I did a NHS stool test and it came back positive.

I am on dual course antibiotics to get rid of the infection and my surgeon confirmed i can stop all medications including clopidigrol and statins due to my extremely

low level of Apol B and Apol E.

I can take the low dose asprin for life as tbe consequence of the CABG x2.

This week i have completex 1600kms on my road bike.

I would definetly reccomend the Randox Everman/Everywoman test for a good MOT of your overall health.

Well done for taking the initiative and finding out more for yourself to influence your treatment

However, i am sure i am not alone in having never heard of ApoLs A, E or other - so a brief explanation or link to info about these might be helpful for others who may wish to look into this

I am not medically trained but here is my take on LDL etc.

Tryglycerides are the same as vldl which is made in the liver. The liver then is like a recycling factory and these vldl are then processed into LDL, LDL is made up pf 7 particles but these can be categorgised into 2 section, small dense and large fluffy particles.

Each LDL is made up of different apolipoproteins and these are letered A to E. The body needs these for good health. There is a case of people with very high ldl have better protection than those with normal.

If LDL was the highest risk factor then everybody who needs a bypass would have high LDL, mines was 3 and i had a double bypass.

The best indicator for risk is tryglyceride/HDL and the ration should be 1. Because i have a low sugar diet and I cycle daily my ratio is 0.5.

The biggest risk to heart disease is smoking and being obese. This is then born out with inflamation markers. I do not drink alchohol either.

Everybody is unique and what neccessarily works for one doesnt work for others. If i eat a lot of wholegrains and pulse my tryglycerides double.

There is a lot of information that dementia is now being called type 3 diabetis.

Did they test your Lp(a) levels…i.e. Lipoprotein (a)? It is a separate risk factor for CVD and a separate test from the regular lipid panel that tests for LDL.

Yes they did. My level was 76, previous non randox test was 79. See image on what was tested on LDL etc.
