I had a Face to Face with my Cardiologist yesterday and it was quite a positive meeting. I have had Bypass surgery in 2015, Heart Attack in 1982 currently I have a 100% blocked Right Coronary Artery and the area of my Heart that it would supply is beyond repair, in his words it's dead !!
In 2018 the cardiologist put 2 stents into my already bypassed LAD now for the Fun bit.
I had an MRI (stress ) a few weeks ago and he went through what it showed and for me importantly what it didn't show. I get short of breath when doing anything out of the ordinary, it is my main symptom of HF. He went through all my Meds and said they are all at the limit, so nothing to do there. My Ejection Fraction is 39% which is I think quite decent !
Then he said an MRI does not necessary show everything I need to know, so I would like to carry out an Angiogram as I think the two stents I put in are to small and you would benefit from larger stents ! He said when I do the Angiogram I will have everything on stand by to do the PCI at the same time ( thanks for that doc ). Finally he ended up with if this doesn't work I am afraid you will have to live with the shortness of breath.
Hey ho I an almost 75 so I will be able to manage that, I did say if if it doesn't improve. I will be willing to try anything that's going and he said he would make a note of it. So it is a wait of 6 to 8 weeks for the Angiogram so a very positive outcome. I asked the question earlier in another post do they just stent through the stents with a larger one or do they extract the small ones and put bigger ones in !!!
Sorry it's so long but just an updating for fellow HF patients .
Regards
