started volunteering in 97 think it was still volunteering now been with the same charity since 2015 met some good friends along the way.volunteering is never about us it`s about them(the people and organisations we volunteer for)and it gives us great satisfaction and a sense of achievement that we make a difference.
I've done a few volunteer jobs. One was for the Red Cross and another was for sending books to prisoners. Both were very satisfying.
Due to stress I never thought I would return to a job. I did find something and I've been there 4 years. It's just enough to get out and be with people. The job is not near as stressful as I'm used to so it works out well.

So glad you are enjoying your job Dolphin14
That's great to read Dolphin14
We all need something to distract us, and its a good place to meet new people.

I did try to in a local charity shop but the amount of forms I was given to fill in was just crazy it put me off. Made me feel distrusted before I’d even started!I now help run a lunch club & a walking group aimed at elderly folk although open to all. It starts up again next month after a long break.
Ps: & yes I have made friends through it.
I help at a community cafe with some friends, I really enjoy going and we laugh, which is wonderful.I could never go back to dental nursing it was very stressful.
Yes things are much better since the lifting of lockdown going for interviews and finding new places!
That’s great news, all the best !
I declined when my boyfriend and best friend died within 15months.
I am aiming to get strong and volunteer cos I miss my old job which has closed down.
Hi Chase888 Lovely to hear from you.
When you feel stronger, I would definitely recommend volunteering, it certainly helped me <3
