I have heard from several people who have lost their very much loved pet. I know exactly what pain they are going through as do many of you here.

I wondered if anyone had some words of encouragement at times like this, I'd love your contribution.

You're so right Kenny kenster1 Strange that, we all say never again but we always do, they are so worth it and definitely part of the family.

Our pets become part of the family, we love them and they love us back in so many ways. They make us smile, they make us laugh, they comfort us when we are sad. I strongly believe that my pets are a special gift. I love and care for them throughout their life. When there life comes to an end it is heartbreaking, we love them and we miss them dreadfully. I think it is important to grieve for your lost pet. I think if you can hand on heart say that you have done all you possibly can to love and care for your pet then hopefully this will help to ease your grief in time. I do not believe that we can ever replace a pet but I have found that when my heart is open to having another pet I love the new pet but I love the new pet differently - if that makes sense.

It makes perfect sense. Each pet we have will never replace a lost and dearly loved companion but a new journey of love begins all over again <3

I had a beloved cat for 14 years and when she died, I was devastated and for a long time, I said I would not have another as it's so hard and painful. When my partner died 6 years ago, I was struggling and guess what happened. ... a stray cat came into my life, discovered she was pregnant and that was it, I was now focusing on my new addition, and when she had her kittens, one very tiny one took my heart and now 6 years later, she is the one who never leaves my side. It was a shame I couldn't keep the other kittens but they went to friends who love them. Each pet that comes into your life has a special place in your heart and though it is heartbreaking when you lose them, always remember the special unconditional love they gave and the comfort they brought. xx

That's such a lovely way of finding a pet. Seems they were meant for you<3 there's always a reason they come into our lives :-) and they certainly found someone to love them.
