If you’re asking how to mask, it’s not a teachable thing and it’s exhausting. It’s just pretending something doesn’t bother you when it actually does.

Be honest. Just say you can’t hear them, if that’s what’s happening. You don’t have to go into detail if you don’t want to.

But masking won’t “fix” it. Masking is just hiding it, it doesn’t make it easier or fix it for you.

Hi there, You could try these earplugs. They might help filtering out noise. Hope it helps.

I have this issue also, so do my three daughters and we deal with it in similar ways but, the best thing to do is remove yourself from the trigger (the noise) calm down your system by watching something, playing with something etc and once you feel less overwhelmed, you can face things again. You can also play music you enjoy to help ? I wear an ear plug, two daughters wear noise cancelling ear plugs and my last daughter uses ear buds and plays music however, we all do remove ourselves when getting overwhelmed as much as possible.
