Hi Harrison, a lot of people seem to have trouble with Trimbow. You may have been told that Trimbow is a triple therapy and there are other triple therapy inhalers you could try, so ask your GP/respiratory nurse. You shouldn't have to put up with a cough side effect.
I have triple therapy (bronchodilator, anti-cholinergic and steroid components) but I used Symbicort which has a bronchodilator and steroid in it for years. Now my consultant has added Incruse Ellipta, the anti-cholinergic component separately due to my sometimes needing more of the Symbicort for my asthma.
I know there is another with name similar to Incruse Ellipta which has all three components in one inhaler. I think the name may be Trelegy Ellipta but Im sure some here will know which would be the best equivalent to Trimbow. And there may of course be other triple therapy inhalers.
Dont hesitate to ask your GP about this. It can take a while to get people on the inhaler which best suits them. The dry mouth can be a problem though. You don't say how long you've had this but from my experience dry mouth gets better after a few weeks, or at least liveable with. Good luck!
Your information is very useful O2Trees.After starting inhaled Colomycin I became more breathless, my consultant changed my Symbicort inhaler to Trimbow.
I have had a persistent dry cough, especially at night, but I've been putting it down to the Colomycin. I've not mentioned this to my consultant for fear of going back to two weeks of IV antibiotics, every six weeks.
Harrison , I also have an extremely dry mouth, I've tried all different things eg gels and sprays but no luck.
I often suck sweets which is no good for my teeth 😬, ha .
Also, can't taste my food .
It's hard work trying to keep on top of everything.
Good luck and thanks you O2Trees
I certainly know you're problem I my self have been battling the same symptoms for months haven't found answere yet but trimbow does work well
