I have Bronchiectasis and have been a patient at the Royal Brompton Hospital for 57 years. My asthma nurse at the surgery suggested I try trimbow inhaler I am wondering has anybody had stomach problems as I have had a bad stomach for 3 weeks my GP thinks it could be IBS.

Trimbow inhaler side effects
I have IBS and SIBO but I don’t use Trimbow. I go to the IBS clinic, have hypnotherapy but have had lots of GI tests before they came to the IBS-D diagnosis. It seems many of the treatments we endure over the years are not helpful to the GI microbiome.
Please let us know how you get on.

I would check with your team at RBH as to whether you should have trimbow inhaler. I don’t know if it affects IBS but I am not sure that it should be used by someone with bronch as it is for asthma and copd.
Hi Soultown. I have bronchiectasis and asthma. Interestingly my regular respiratory nurse had moved me on to Trimbow. But when I had to go to the A&E and had a very thorough follow-up consultation at the (other) hospital's respiratory hub, they eliminated COPD from my condition and took me off Trimbow and put me on another inhaler, Flutiform. I don't think I had suffered from any stomach side effects while on Trimbow but I seem to be doing better on the new inhaler along with a steroid dose. Hope that helps. Finn
Hi Soultown,
I;m not 100% sure about Trimbow, but I know it doesn't agree with my mother - possibly because she also takes oral steroids. However,I certainly have had very bad stomach pains and a swollen abdomen from Anora Elipta and a few other inhalers. It was also suggested I had IBS, but when I stopped the inhalers, the pain and swelling miracously disappeared.
I feel very sorry for you - let us know how you get on.
I have recently switched from Fostair and Spiriva to Trimbow but so far have had no stomach problems. And the jury is out at the moment on the Trimbow. Not sure if it is better for me, but will reserve judgement. What is your opinion?
It made me feel sick. Left it a few days and tried again buy still sick so saw nurse and she put me back on my original one
Hi I'm new here ,started trimbow this morning don't feel my breathing is any better , I'll stick with it and hope it gets a bit better
Hi Soultown , I have copd & am on Trimbow & for a while now I've also been getting pains that were put down to an irritable bowel, but then I've a hiatus hernia & get heartburn & acid reflux its really hard to pinpoint whether it could be the Trimbow or not, I guess the only way to find out would be too come off the Trimbow but then we could end up in hospital so we are in a trap, what do we do now?
I've been on trimbow 3 weeks and my stomach is bad plus itchy red face not happy
Have you had medical advice on this facial redness. My Wife is suffering this badly and has been told it is Rosacea, however all remedies for this are failing
No they tried to say it wasn't a side effect then agreed after I said it says red itchy skin is a side effect
Thank you for your reply, did they take you off Trimbow ?
Yes but after a week I was struggling to breathe back on seretide so had to go back on trimbow my data are good but breathing iffy heart rate up and down not sure specialist wants me on trelegy in a couple of weeks he dosent know I'm back on trimbow not got a appointment with him phone wise till Jan 😠
Once again, thank you for your reply, My Wife see's her specialist this month and I am going to put the case to him, plus I am going to try a get her a full blood test to see if that shows anything. I hope you get sorted and get good relief. I will let you know what happens. Take care and stay safe, kind regards Phil
I was changed to Trimbow, within a week I had the worst acid reflux, I could hardly even stand up straight, I switched back to my other inhalers, and acid reflux with the aid of Omeprazole and Gavison liquid gone in 48 hours ........ there are other inhalers for COPD, I have switched back to Spiriva Respimat, but I do use the aero chamber, as it breaks the particles down, and you can inhale them more easily .... try it if you haven't. I still have to take the purple one and of course the ventolin. I did think Trimbow for COPD was good, but the s/e are not worth the benefit.
