Hi Germantara I had this happen a few years back I would wake up and the first breathe I took I couldn't I was gasping for breathe I would grab my salbutamol and take a few puffs and then I could breathe but I had a very bad cough, long story short I had a lower respiratory tract infection and asthma attack my peakflow went from 450 to 200 on admission to hospital. Hope you feel better soon x Do you find yourself needing your blue inhaler more then 4 times a day? Maybe go to the doctors and get checked out x

You can use it up the 6 times but i only do it when I doings things to strenuous because I get breathless I realy shouldn't push myself to that extreme trimbow is for copd it's caused as 3 in inhaler twice a day but on morning as I get up I'm coughin and that cause breathless I'm going ta make appointment ta see doc or respertory nursebut this morn it just got on top off me I was thinking blimey I'm 62 on Friday and god forbid I'm tortured with this

Don't forget that you must wait 30 seconds before you have another puff. So 30 seconds between each one .......that goes for every MDI (spray) inhaler.

Have a look at a YouTube video to make sure you're taking it properly . I'm ashamed to say that I took Seretide wrongly for a couple of years so my asthma wasn't controlled. Coughed incessantly. P

Thankyou I didn't think bout that I do wait but it won't harm just to have a look at that

Shake, inhale, wait 30 seconds, shake & inhale again. If you Google ventolin manufacturer it should show you a video of correct method. And again the maker of trimbow should show a video too. At least if it's the way you use them then you know you can know that youre using them correctly and coughing is from another reason.

I agree with Yumz199725 go to the doctor, it also could be silent reflux.

Hi, trimbow had awful side effects for me, how long have you been taking it? 4th week I got really breathless and struggling and had horrendous cough in morning but it was unproductive. Best see your gp 👍hope your feeling better soon. As for feeling really low, I got to that stage and thankfully went to doctors

Good morning Germantara. Sorry to hear your having problems with coughing in a morning and short of breath. Has the cough recently started or have you had it since you been on Trimbow. If you're breathless as been going on a while you need a check up to see if you're inhaler needs changing if it's not helping. I have been having problems with a morning cough since January and I too feel that a hot drink helps more than my morning inhaler so I am starting on a new inhaler which will be morning and evening. Instead of just in a morning. Hope you get some help and answers. Brian

Yes you are right. I get short of breath with coughing every morning. Doctors don't seem to have any answers to the problem. Hope you get some help soon

Sorry to hear your troubles. Carbocisteine is to make the mucus less sticky and viscous and so should start working straight away. I know it's not easy when struggling to breath and cough, but maybe get into a routine of clearing your chest several times a day using ACBT youtube.com/watch?v=adoNwg8... and physiotherapyforbpd.org.uk/... good luck

Glad it helped. Try doing it before you go to bed, and if you get up in the night :) I aim for 3 times a day, also before I go out eg to a talk etc.

Laying down at night causes the mucus to lay in the back or side of the lungs so when we wake up it moves down and causes the coughing, I find sleeping on my back propped up helps, I use my inhaler with space chamber and then wait a while things settle down. Long gone are the days of jumping straight out of bed fresh and ready for the day
