Colistimethate powder for use in a nebuliser

Good afternoon all, on a daily basis I take the above powdered antibiotic (Promixin) through my nebuliser with a saline solution to help with my psudamonas bugs. The other day I noticed I had ran out of saline so I had to used one of my salbutamol solutions to mix it.

Will this have been ok?

Has anyone else had to do this before?

Yes, it’s not licensed to be mixed with salbutamol but I’ve been told it’s fine to do so. I’ve read this somewhere too, will try & find the link

My GP says to use cooled boiled water. Also, Promixin should be used through an iNeb, not a normal nebuliser? Joy x
