You can get portable nebulisers (mine is about the size of an old mobile phone) but I am guessing you don't want to splash out on one just for a one off trip. You could try and speak to the respiratory nurse at the local hospital to see if they coudl lend you one? They usually run off a battery or the car lighter socket. As for being able to plug one in somewhere, it maybe that you could pop in for lunch to a cafe or somewhere and ask them nicely if you could use a socket.

Not much help I am afraid, but I do hope you manage to get your mum out on the planned trip - I am sure she will love the sea air.

Hi, yes we have a portable nebuliser that we can use in the car which sits behind the drivers seat. I think we got it from evergreen products or something similar. Didn't cost fortunes about £35. It does work slightly differently to the other one but just as efficient. Good Luck and I hope you are able to enjoy a good day out. TAD xx

I have a small portable nebuliser from Evergreen but it was expensive...when I had the mains operated one I was limited to distance I could travel. I used to wonder if I could ask a local gps surgery to plug mine in. You would have to plan the trip in advance though.

I would ask the respiratory nurse if there is one you could borrow, it would be lovely if your Mum could get to the sea

Just wondering if the mobility centre in Skegy will have come across this problem before - maybe they would allow you to use a power point without your Mum feeling awkward. Council may be able to point you in the right direction. You Mum might feel more comfortable and secure with a portable for use within the car as mentioned by your pals above.

Hope you both have a lovely time.

Quite sure any local pharmacy would let you plug in ,before I had a potable nebuliser ,I found people very helpful most shops or cafes would probably let you use a plug ,ask nicely and offer to pay a donation towards the eletricity bill .

hope this helps .
