Hi all. I tested positive for covid 3 weeks ago. After I was testednegative I feel really poorly. This has been for two weeks now. I got steroids and antibiotics over a week ago as asthma flared up and dr thought I had infection. I feel really ill. Has anyone else been like this. I have severe fatigue, muscle/ bone pain. Stomach problems etc. Coughing at night.

I got Covid back in January but it didn't effect my asthma at all. I felt a bit ill for 3 days and that was it, felt fine and back to normal. My husband however, who doesn't have asthma, was really ill and is still suffering today 6 months on with long Covid. He has some of the symptoms you describe; joint/muscle aches, stomach issues, fatigue. He was off work for 10 weeks and is probably just now starting to feel like his old self. It seems that anyone, despite having a health condition or not can be struck with this. Hope you start to feel better soon.

If your symptoms persist then check back with your doctor as you can be referred to a long covid clinic.

I know early on in the pandemic there was lots of discussion around VitD and how important to have good levels in order to have a good immune system. If you can manage it, some daily exposure to sunshine will be beneficial. If you want to take a supplement, ensure you take VitD3 with some fatty food to aid absorption (I use a VitD3 oil based spray, available from Holland& Barrett or Amazon). A good magnesium supplement will also help VitD absorption and some types of magnesium is good for muscle pain (a good level of elemental Magnesium is the most absorbable). Some recommend also taking VitKmk7 (another vitamin that needs fat for absorption) as it helps the body utilise the VitD3.

Magnesium Malate sounds like the best type for fatigue and muscle health. I doubt it comes without being mixed with another type magnesium. I attach more info in case you want to consider a supplement.

Hi Denae011 so sorry about the symptoms you described and the struggle. I've been flat in bed in January for 4 weeks and after that very slowly I got back on track. Firstly I called the ambulance and they said to me welcome to the world of Covid and adviced to take paracetamol and after 4 days I was so unwell, extreme fatigue and very bad sweating, that was all, but I was short of breath as well and pain to my ribbs and back, so I called the ambulance again and they took me to the hospital and prescribed 2 antibiotics, I started to get much better. One was amoxicillin the other clarithromycin. I couldn't take the amoxicillin because they didn't have it at the hospital so I've been discharged only with clarithromycin which helped straight away. The clarithromycin is quite tight on stomach so I crushed it in smaller pieces and it helped. Eventually I'm good now, thanks God left Covid world with 2 high blood pressure tablets because blood pressure wouldn't go down. So for the time being no salt and keep a close eye on the BP monitor. Get well soon and God bless❤️
