I need some advice got to travel from England to Scotland with my children on the train as moving home. My Anxiety has been so bad lately and I'm having some bad stomach issues and I'm so worried I won't make it. Is there anything anybody can suggest to help me make the journey. Xxxxx

Hiya Lee,

Have you asked the doc about maybe some tablets, just for this short journey. Vallium would take the edge off and allow you to do this.

Do you have another adult going with you?

Try and keep away from the foods that are upsetting your tummy, I get it too, and stay off any alchohol.

For the journey, I would, and its easier said than done,

Sit in your body, no need to try and escape,

When the thoughts come, smile, and let them come, with the least resistance as possible.

sit in your body, and move on.

Panics are barstuards.............they get bigger when we make them important, and in the panic situation they are important, so important we block out everything else, well almost everything, we always have ourself, be kind to the panic, be kind to yourself, face it, relax as much as possible. Accept and float through it, relaxing as much as possible.

It will take its own time abating, but it will abate. Its like waiting for your dinner to get cooked, whatever we do, it will take its own time. PATIENCE.

you can do this,

Wishing you well

Hey Baylien,

I never thought about medication just for the journey.

I'm going up by myself with the children Husband is driving all our stuff up.

Thank you for telling me how cope with the panic attacks. I definitely fight them to the point of breaking down. All the doctor ever told me is deep breathing which doesn't always work. I'm going try this method, I never thought of approaching them like this.

I get so frightened of something happening to me and then the children won't have me to look after them.

I really appreciate you taking the time out to reply to me.

Hiya Lee

Good advice from Baylien .

Any GP would prescribe you something like Diazepam for the journey since it is a one-off. People, for example, who are scared of flying have no problem getting written up for a days' suppy.

Impress upon the GP it is for the day and I am almost certain you will have no problem getting them.
