I'm 21 and I don't touch alcohol, for the same reason I don't touch coffee. It doesn't take much ( 1 small mug of coffee or 1 glass of wine) to make me feel shaky, and makes me quite "on edge" I still meet friends at the pub, but I won't drink and that's fine with me. Alcohol tends to highten the mood you are in when drinking; so if you start drinking whilst you're depressed, alcohol can make you feel even more depressed, or if you feel happy, alcohol might make you rather merry. So it really is your decision.

I hope you have a lovely Birthday,

JB x

I have a brandy and lemonade every night and really look forward to it.Am sure it calms me down. But just the one cos of the meds I am on. If you decide to drink kinda dilute with lemonade , water or a mixer of some sort and enjoy your night out.:)

Don,t fear a little tipple but never use it as a tool to calm...........using it for this reason can become addictive as your mind associates the calm feeling with the alchohol......Which leads to more problems!!!!

On saying that what jeffju says is perfectly fine as long as it stays that way!!...........

Thanks everyone i think i will see on the night what i am feeling like and take it from there again thankyou xx

If you want to but not sure how it will go, take it slow and in small amounts and see how it goes. Perhaps get a light cider (elderflower is lovely, or strawberry and lime) they come in bottles meaning you can get two drinks out of it whilst people are already on their second round, saves money too! Whatever you do, don't do rounds! And take your time. Don't make a thing of it, or put pressure on yourself, just take sips when your comfortable. Don't have more than two or three MAX. It may be later in the evening when youre in bed or the next day when you see the down side of things so take it easy x
