Is anyone taking pregablin for anxiety/depression. And do they find it effective?

Hi. whitey. I have not heard of this drug and would be interested to know more. Is it only for depression and anxiety? There are so many drugs out there that it is difficult to keep up! Come back as and when you wish. Regards. jonathan.

Hi, my mums on pregabalin + its a drug used 4 central nervous pain, they also giv 2 people 4 anxiety, i dnt c that it would help wiv depression though it has no anti depressant properties in it but does help anxiety. Dont understand that ur dr would give it 2 u 4 depression.

hi whitey,this pregabalin drug is much the same as lyrica,my niece was given lyrica for panic attacks,and yes they do help,even though they are basically for pain,they are approved for anxiety,her panic attacks are gone,not sure if they help with depression though.xx

I have just been prescribed pregabalin. (50mg 3 times per day.) for my anxiety. It is early days yet, so cannot say how beneficial they will be. I did look on a forum, and every single comment was extremely positive saying how effective they sre in treating anxiety. How you now started on them?

You have to take high dose for it to be effective

I take 300mg once a day and I get around 6 / 8 hours calming effect from it

it is good and relaxes you greatly at a high dose

doctors generally under prescribe due to litigation ...It does affect balance and motor skills...So could cause accidents when driving etc

I too hate ssri so have just been prescribed mertazipine...Not taken one yet but am expecting a good nights sleep from it!

Yes, mirtazapine will help you sleep, but probably only for the first couple of weeks. That what happened with me. It also caused me intense dreaming - and not always pleasant dreams, so be aware of this.
