What is it about pregablin?

Well my heading says it all, if I had known and surely if drs hadn't been so blind or oblivious to the side effects, and the withdrawals surely such a drug would never have been introduced to us with anxiety, ok I read with pain it seems to help but u guys still also ensure the side effects and withdrawals but because of Ur severe pain issues u put up with these effects and I do take my hat off to all u guys enduring this disposable, hideous drug.I for one did not realise what I was taking maybe I should av looked into it more but don't we trust our dr's and NHS (ha ha). This drug kicks Valium out the window I came off that it was bad but this pregablin takes the biscuit , I'm just stating like many others on or who have been through the effects of pregablin on how wrong and desperate our dr s can be mean surely putting me back in diazepam for anxiety would have been less dangerous it's all a learning cove but one I do not need thank Jason

It's a bit late now but I do still crave for diazepam (Valium) and I never ever went through what I'm going through with pregablin and they say Valium are more dangerous

Hi Jayjay,. I am on Pregablin 75mg, I have not had side effects or experienced anything untoward. I have read the slip given and it didn't alarm me. I take it so I can sleep. I've been on it for about 5 years!!!

Yes and obviously you have a good Dr and guidance , and Ur in such a low dose for sleep pregablin works similar to quitiapine for sleep 50mg is all u need but for anxiety u need 6,900 pending on tolerance ,I abused it now I'm paying

So u are just taking pregablin for sleep nothing else ,just wondering why pregablin out of all the sleep medicines out there Ur Dr offered u these there are numerous more popular sleep meds out there but I agree pregabs are ok for sleep just find it a wee bit strange that Ur Dr would recommend this as it's more known for pain & nerve damage, I've tried zopiclone, temazepam and serequel(quitiapine)for sleep the later being the best by far

Hello again Jayjay, I was prescribed Pregablin when I used to see a pyschiastrist for bi polar, I was working and not sleeping well. My mind stays active and I cannot seem to switch off. It helps. I must point out that I have had an awful lot to contend with over the last couple of years, my youngest son who is 39 is also bi polar but he has only just acknowledged this as its really messed his life up, my eldest had major heart surgery then a stroke and a month ago a collapsed lung! However I remain positive. Hope all of this helps.

Ok I'm trying to take all this in no disrespect but are u suggesting that I may have bipolar as I too have often thought this I do have ADHD and please tell me more as I need to hear options xx

Absolutely not even suggesting you have bi polar, I was only explaining to you why I am taking it, sorry if you thought otherwise, I was attempting to give you a wider picture. My GP did not prescribe it. Unfortunately I do not really have suggestions on treating ADHD, but think positive and do things you enjoy. Exercise helps a lot of people xx

Perhaps a change in doctor is appropriate. What do you think?

Jayjay46today in reply to Darryl

Hi Darryl yes I think after I see this Dr tomorrow providing on how it goes I will ask to speak to a Dr who maybe specialises in anxiety based meds and that will treat this pregablin withdrawals seriously not tell me to stop thinking about it and to go get blood tests done thank
