Does anyone find exercise good for anxiety... - Anxiety Support
Does anyone find exercise good for anxiety/ depression?
This is medically proven.......something about endorphins (a feel good chemical) being produced during exercise,.....
This is definately helpfull.......step it up slowly........and in moderation.......and this morning you will get a few better informed answers when my friends all wake up...ha ha
Absolutely. A hard long walk with my dog makes me feel better.
I've suffered from anxiety and depression for 15 years and the one thing that is guaranteed to make me feel better is exercise. Sometimes it is extremely hard to find the motivation to go out for a run or pop to the gym (especially if you're feeling at a low eb) but if you can push through that and force yourself off the couch then it's definitely worth it. And the feeling you get post exercise can be very rewarding. I find running is a big help. Plus it's free. But it doesn't need to be really strenuous. Even gentle walking and some fresh air can improve your mood. Pop the headphones on with some of your favourite feel good tunes and you're onto a winner.
I'd say this helps me yes but the motivation to do anything about it is so low i hardly bother. Rediculous when i know it will make me feel a bit better i just dont have the self motivation to get going. Definitely do something 'easy', don't push yourself too hard, you want a sense of acomplishment when you're done, rather than failure you couldnt get through it. It might be good to get a workout buddy onboard, let them be your motivator. Its easier to let yourself down than it is to let someone else down. Best of luck. Hope you do better than im doing! x
