Hi All. At the risk of overloading the site and getting kicked off I thought the following little story from Buddhism (forget the religious connotations) may help some. Imagery can be helpful in nervous illness as can a sense of humour. (But who feels like laughing!).
This story is about trying to find a way out of our predicament by pursuing elaborate treatments when, in fact, the answer is less difficult than we imagine. You can spend years in trying to achieve some result when the answer lies close at hand.
PUPIL; "Hello, Master"
MASTER; Hello, my son"
PUPIL; "Master, I have done it!"
MASTER; "Done what, my son?
PUPIL . "Master, I can walk on water".
MASTER; "Well done my son, and how long did it take you to achieve this wonderful feat?".
PUPIL; "25 years, Master".
MASTER; "What a pity to spend so much time when for tuppence you could have gone across on the ferry".
Best wishes. jonathan.
