I have my first CBT appointment tomorrow, I don't know what to expect from this appointment or what I'm going to walk into deep down I feel a little scared and anxious. I find now that I'm getting my anxious on every appointment I have, one time I would just go and not worry about it ,but now it's very difficult.
I was at the doctors yesterday and I struggled but I think most of it was my fnd .
Please wish me good luck for tomorrow 🙏.

Hi Littlecook, it could be the start of something really beneficial. Check out Dr Harry Barry's work for a good rundown of CBT therapy. Good luck and keep us in the loop. drharrybarry.com/resources/
Hi, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy will be talking to you about situations and what your reaction is to them. Over time, starting to recognise negative patterns and finding different ways to deal with them can start to make them less intrusive. I've used it in the past and found it useful. good luck with it, hope it's helpful for you.
Think of it as a friendly chat (which it will be), but designed to help alleviate your anxiety by putting aspects of your life in perspective. A good CBT practitioner will do this without you even noticing and they are very good at recognising issues even when you don’t specifically raise them. It’s a very clever skill, and I would highly recommend it.
It’s been 2 days… how did it go? I have found they don’t all dive deep right away. My DBT was explaining the basics and we discussed my experiences and talked about whether it may be a good fit for my situation.
