Health anxiety...have a dentist appointment tomorrow ugh
How is the celexa working? Im on zoloft 50mg been on for 2 weeks and i still dont think its fully kicked in and had some side effects. I take ativan for severe attacks.
It could be your wisdom teeth! Dont worry. It can cause confusion, dizziness, and hard of hearing.
What are you nervous about?
I'm going to the dentist to have 2 post put in and 2 crowns. And I honestly dont know what I am worried about. A little of everything. Like will I have a panic attack during, will I get real dizzy, will something bad happen in general... mind is racing.
Hi newmom x Everything you are worrying about are the same things most anxious people have. It's the idea of not being able to get up if you have to.
However, Letting the dentist know that you may need a little break in between
can help. Whether going to the restroom or just moving around a bit before
retreating back to the chair can help. Moving our muscles helps in reducing the
adrenaline. Also if you do have Xanax to take, I'd suggest taking it before your
appointment. If it's the first time, I'd have someone drive you or come with you.
I ALWAYS have my headphones with me. I listen to my favorite music and/or
relaxation tapes. As I lie back and close my eyes, I ask the dentist for glasses
to put on while he is working on my teeth. Not only does it protect my eyes
from things in the air but somehow provides me with a protected feeling.
Last but not least, I use my deep breathing to control my fear, my heart rate,
my adrenaline rising. You can also ask the dentist to let you know when he
is half way done and then once again when he is just about through. You'd be
surprised in how much that will make you relax.
It's going to be okay. You can and will do this with no problems. That is just
your mind playing this anxiety game with you. Show anxiety that you don't
play games that you are out to win. And you will xx
I always get anxious prior to the dentist too. I don’t like being in the chair that long, or how far back the chair goes. BUT I tell myself what would happen if I didn’t go. I did wait for a few years in between checks awhile ago and ended up with the worst cavity and filling ever. So with that being said you’re doing the right thing. Nothing bad is going to happen. You may feel dizzy, but it will just be because of anxiety, not because anything is wrong. Panic may be there, but you’ve been there before and were ok. All will be ok this time too. I make small talk with the hygienist and keep her chatting. Takes my mind off of myself for a bit. Good luck tomorrow, not that you’ll need it because it will all be smooth sailing. 😁
I have exactly the same as you this morning at 11.15am and feel the same good luck hun let's show them we are fearless XX
Good luck I am here at the dentist now

Well we did it hope it went ok for you I have to go back for the proper crown but least I have a temporary so pleased I went hope you are too love🙂xx
I am currently here now waiting to have the 2 crowns put on. I did good with the 2 posts. Glad I went as well
That’s good I’m glad I went and also that you had the courage to go we should pat ourselves in the back well done 😘xx
Indeed well done Pat xx
Always nice to see you on site.
Hi poor you. I hate the dentists with a passion but what makes me go is the thought of losing my teeth and pain. I have some good examples of not going with 2 of my sisters both of whom haven't gone for many years and now just have a couple of teeth left.
Both of them have suffered enormously with pain and abscesses and everything and I would do anything to avoid that. x
