Sertraline

HI all.

So I’ve been on Sertraline for 20 years (with 2 breaks in between for both of my pregnancies) anyway, I’ve been on 100mg for around 3 months (after my little girl had been born I went back on 50 and increased to 100 three months ago)

Since being back on the Sertraline after my little girls birth, I have felt worse than before. I feel like I have given it enough time and it makes me feel like a total zombie, brain fog and detached from the world.

My question is, shall I taper off them because they’re clearly not working, or do I increase the dose which I’m hesitant to do or do I switch to an alternative?

I know I need to contact the GP and I will tomorrow but just seeking some advice.

thanks

Hi, someone sent me this channel and I've found it very informative. It is run by a doctor who specialises in tapering of medication. He has great information and hopefully you find it useful. It will also help you to ask the right questions to your GP youtube.com/@taperclinic Wishing you peace and health.

Hi everyone is different so yes medical advice should be first port of call , but the same thing happened to me after a break from Sertraline and I was put on Citalopram and that worked out great , best therapy ever for me is talking and this site is wonderful , there’s always someone to talk you 😊

Citalopram was amazing for me too. When it stopped working I went on trintellix (did well, but my body became dependent, and insurance doesn’t like it). If Citalopram stops working, try the sister med; escitalopram. I’m on that now, and quite happy.

I am unsure about this, unfortunately. There is a Facebook group for additude adhd for adults. With it comes a private messenger group for women issues around it. If you use fb, I highly recommend you go and ask this there.

I do know that our hormones change how our bodies work quite extensively. Not sure about a med reacting like this. Since it is not a stimulant, if you are going to go off it, you should probably taper.

Not what you're looking for?
