Hello, is there anyone out there on Pregabalin for GAD? - I have been prescribed this by my doctor and I am wondering if anyone has benefited from it? - I am on 25mg and then 50mg after one week. I look forward to any advice? Thanks LizM40.
Pregabalin: Hello, is there anyone out there... - Anxiety Support
Pregabalin
Not had any personal experience of this medication, but would appreciate your comments on your experience as you progress. Very best of luck with this and hope you improve over time. One thing I have learned with this "anxiety thing" is that great patience is required, and do not expect any overnight miracles. Hang in there and best wishes,
Mallet-head xx
Yes I am on pregabalin. I am taking 250 mg spread over the day. think it had helped in reducing my anxiety, although my doctor has kept me on my mirtazapine as well so it is hard to tell what has been helping me most. It sounds like you are on a very low dose as some people take up to 600 mg. It is a very expensive drug so doctors are reluctant to prescribe it.
Hi, yes, you are on a very low dosage, so don't worry about taking it. I was prescribed Pregabalin after years of anxiety disorder that had been wrongly medicated with all sorts of different stuff, anti depressants being the main one. Yes i had become depressed but only as my anxiety was too bad to bear any more. So after my GP tried me on Pregabalin my life changed.I am on 250mg twice a day. one dose when i get up and the other at about 6:00pm.
The effects for me were pretty fast acting and after a few, not so unpleasant side effects, (feeling a bit dizzy and stumbling over my words a little) i was feeling great.
Remember that most medications have some side effects, but this is usually just your body getting used to them and these will wear off with continual use so please persevere as this could be just what you are looking for. (It gave me the key to normal living).
So good luck and i hope this works for you as well as it did for me.
im having good results with pregablin i was originally put on it for fibromyalgia but have had it raised to help with anxiety and nightmares its actually working.im only g on 75mg a day good luck with it.
Many thanks for all your advice and tips. I also take Mirtazapine along side it so I hope I have the best of both. It does make me feel a bit relaxed! Have a good weekend. LizM40
