Over a year ago, gp increased the dosage from 40mg to 50mg. Few weeks ago another gp said I was on the maximum dosage (50mg). A recent medication review with yet another different gp, told me that 40mg was the maximum dosage. For 3 days now I've cut back to 40mg but I've been feeling really tired, wobbly and disorientated. I've taken the extra 10mg today so waiting to see if it changes how I'm feeling throughout the day. Currently trying to do an online course in Dementia Care but finding it hard to concentrate. Recently received my certificate in End of Life Care, which gave me a boost in my confidence.
I've had a lot to deal with since January regarding hubby. His appendix ruptured, so after an emergency appendictomy, testing of his appendix found Goblet Cell Adenocarcinoma, a rare type of cancer. He had CRS and Hipec 4 weeks ago.
Honestly don't know how I've coped the last 6 months as well as being epileptic.

Hi Dawn43,Thanks for your post which contains some good work on your part, studying while struggling with an ill hubby and your own medication π concerns.
Read all you can about the medication you are taking, Paroxetine. You will then be better informed when talking with your GP.
If you are not happy with your current dose, there are options like a different drug from the same class of medication or trying a drug from a different group.
You might consider extra support at this time by adding a short course of therapy into your treatment plan, maybe 6 weeks of CBT, either online or in person.
Take heart that you aren't alone when life throws a curve ball or two. We are here for you π πββ¬
Thank you for responding.I feel a bit better by taking the additional 10mg. Going to see how it goes by resuming 50mg, then will make an appt with GP. I've been on Paroxetine for 22 years.
I think with being diagnosed with epilepsy 3 years ago, that plays on my mind as well. 4 seizures and a sub arachnoid Haemorrage, each time I have a seizure, it takes me hours to wake up. Neurology at the local hospital are useless.
I did a CBT course last year and found it helpful. I didnt know it can be done online too so will look into it.
