I take propranolol for anxiety. You have to watch for low BP & pulse though as it is a beta blocker.

Hi thinlizzy 1234.yes I'm on propranolol for high blood pressure and have been for many years plus 3 other sorts. I've also been on 40 mg citalopram for anxiety / depression for a very long time

I take it for blood pressure. You have to be careful if you have general anesthesia for surgery while on a beta blocker as it tends to slow one's heart rate. I found out the hard way.

I take propranolol started out to be for anxiety, then one that being called blood pressure because I have a fib then it started lowering my blood pressure too much so I’m only on 30 mg dose now it doesn’t help my anxiety at all but it keeps my blood pressure intact now

I tried it for anxiety and it didn't help me, the only med that worked for my anxiety was klonopin but we are all different. I also tried it for blood pressure and it helped some but switched to another med for that.

yes! It’s v good, helps with anxiety symptoms …doesn’t stop the anxiet but helps with how Ill you feel due to anxiety. Helps lower my heart rate and BP too
