I’m assuming you’ve already seen a Dr.? It could just very well be viral but at an advanced age, as I am at also, it should be assessed by a physician..😍

After respiratory infections coughs can often linger on long after the initial period of illness has passed and we can also experience post viral fatigue. By all means talk to your doctor for reassurance and a simple x-ray can confirm that all is well.Cough lozengers like Strepsils dual action can bring some relief but if the coughing is severe do so with a cushion or pillow clutched to your chest to protect your lungs from the impact.

Sounds like Covid or RSV. I’d see a doctor.
