sorry I have already posted about this but I’m gonna put it into better words!

so about 3 months ago I took some mdma, a few moment later my heart started racing and I thought I was going to pass out and die I went to the hospital they done blood work and ecg told me everything was fine! Then I started getting weird sensations in my body chest pains all types of different symptoms so I then proceeded to see another doctor they done more blood work and told me everything looks good once again now I still feel like I’m dying constantly and I have all these weird symptoms i don’t know how much more I can take, anyone experienced this before I need so reassurance Thankyou!

what caused your symptoms?

Hi Mcdiarmid. I am sorry you are having such a hard time.

I looked up MDMA, and found that it is a stimulant that can cause increased heart rate and palpitations among other things. Also increased anxiety.

I did not read about this next part I am saying, it is only my opinion, but what may have happened, is your body reacted too strongly to the drug at the time you took it, and maybe the initial negative effects you had felt right after, have lingered in your body.

I would definitely go back to your Dr or other medical professional, and tell them you are still having symptoms and that you are still worried that something may be wrong. Ask if they can do anything else to check you out, and if they say they have given you all the tests, ask if they have any input on what might be causing your symptoms.

It still could be anxiety, but I really would get checked out again to make sure.

I still don't think you will die. You might be having a reaction to the drug that just won't go away, but that doesn't mean anything will happen to you other than you might feel unpleasant for a while. I would tell your Dr your concerns.

I really wish you the best. Take care.

That's the thing about anxiety disorder. No matter what or how many test are run, usually, there's nothing to find. My heart goes out to you! I've been through that myself. I worked on a golf course. As I would be riding the mower I would be crying my eyes out cuz it was so beautiful out and I knew, absolutely knew, I would not be seeing too many more beautiful mornings. That was 20 years ago. After having all your test done to make sure there is nothing going on, find a GP that understands anxiety disorder.

I think the negative effects of the MDMA triggered your anxiety: your nerves became sensitised. Maybe this was waiting to happen, depends on your mental outlook before you took the MDMA, were you already experiencing high stress?Your mind seems to have locked on to the negative after effects of MDMA and it became obsessional.

You did the right thing having all those tests and when you still weren't convinced having more tests for a second opinion. But I suggest you now accept the doctors' opinion that your heart and body are sound. You can't spend the rest of your life thinking "What if they've missed something?"

Accept the bodily reassurance you have been given and address the real cause: the sensitisation of your nervous system.

Over sensitive nerves exaggerate every worry we have about our health ten-fold. Ordinary aches, pains and sprains become magnified into terminal illnesses and the normal wish not to die before our time becomes exaggerated into a feeling of imminent death.

You will recover, you won't spend the rest of your life feeling this way. Through understanding, reassurance and the reordering of your thoughts you will find respite and recovery.

Deep down you know these symptoms are due to anxiety because you have chosen Anxiety Support to look for answers. By drawing on the experiences of others here you will find what you are looking for and regain your quiet mind.
