Hi, has anybody had a test matching DNA with medication? Thanks!

Yes. The results explained that I metabolize chemicals faster than a normal person does. Something that should last 8 hours only last for 5 to 6 hours, for example. Other than that, nothing else stood out to my psychiatrist. That was almost 10 years ago, so the tests today may contain more detailed information.

I did Genesight recently. I was curious and my insurance covered it. No great eyeopeners or impact to my treatment.

Thank you for your reply. I was diagnosed with generalized anxiety and tried different meds (Lexapro, Zoloft, Buspirone) with no good results. I’m hoping the DNA test will pair me with a med better suited to my genes. I appreciate your input and glad the insurance covers the cost!

I also did the Genesight test and started on one of the meds it recommended and it has worked well for me, it was paid for by my insurance. I had tried a half dozen meds for depression previously and none helped and the test showed that none of them were right for me. The one I tried from the test was a different class.
