Do any of you wake each morning feeling "scared" a feeling like you are short of breath and may pass out? This continues until perhaps mid afternoon. You name it, I've likely tried it to help myself. I just feel so hopeless.

Waking up with fear?
Me too Kama, I wake up shaky and feeling sick, and muscle pain in my back and shoulders. I think I must be tense all night, to be fair I am all day too, never give my body a break. To be honest I don't know how to now.Don't like going to bed, as I know the morning will be horrible, although I get up now, I used to lay there and suffer it, it was horrible. When I get up it does get better... Well, a bit! 😊
Yes, if I stay in bed it just over whelms me. I often feel sick to my stomach when I wake. The fear usually starts to diminish around late afternoon. The next appointment with my psyciatrist I want to ask him about too much cortisol in the mornings & if there is anything I can do to lower it.
Oh my goodness! I have looked for years for an answer to this! It is the story of my mornings too! The moment I open my eyes I feel nauseous and shaky sometimes with a rush that felt like a hot flush ( but I am 78… so not that!😂) I hated mornings tbh and as my sleep was poor or non existent I hated going to bed too! I bought wrist bands for nausea ( Sea Band) and the nausea is so much better… still a bit shaky for the first hour but such a relief not to have the dreadful stomach churning sick feeling. They might not work for you but after years of trying to fend it off I have certainly had some results.x
Hi Eilidhmac,I have tried sea bands and yes they do help. I am actually starting to do Qi Hong and hoping for a better way out of this than when I was constantly at the doctors, all they ever offered was drugs and its not for me. I haven't seen the doctor for two years now I just get on with it. Considering the sea bands act on a acupuncture point., may be Qi Hong is the way to go, or Thai Chi got to try it, must be something in a 2000 year old remedy for the body, that we have all given up on for pills!
Best wishes.

Hello Kama, I’m scared to wake up and start my day. I felt some dizziness in the morning but its mainly I get stomach pain. Just want to keep sleeping, stay in bed all day or just walk most of the day. I noticed that too, It starts dissipating in the afternoon and feel best when im going to go to sleep. The cold mornings doesn’t help either, makes me feel more vulnerable.
You can relate how I feel then & it's not pleasant! I have nausea sometimes as well. For me, I can't stay in bed because it just seems so overwhelming. The evening hrs. are the best. I guess all we can do is keep trying to get through the day. Take care.
I know what you mean, its like anxiety is bitting me. Not sure how to explain it but I feel it coming hours before it hits me. Like others have said it’s probably has to do with cortisol levels as well. Take care of yourself. We are here for you.
There is a cortisol release in the morning to get your body to action for survival. Do some light physical activity, exercise like cardio, take a walk, anything to get yourself busy and working. That will help to warm you up and breathing regularly also, since with anxiety and fear breathing gets shallow , the feeling of suffocation leads to lightheadedness and dizziness.

I had this problem for a while too. I discovered that it always happened at the same time in the morning. Then one morning I discovered that one of my neighbours leaves fur work at that time and that the noise of him leaving the house and driving away plus the lights from his van were kind of scaring my awake. So I put a blackout curtain for the light. I tried earplugs to cut out the noise but found those awkward to sleep with so tried a few calming exercises some soothing music. I still get mornings where I wake up feeling scared but these are easier to deal with now. Other things I tried was changing my pillows to help release neck pain, using pillows to support me better when I was sleeping and developing a sleep routine so that I felt calm, safe and in control of my thoughts.
