Hello, I was put on labetalol for high blood pressure and pre eclampsia during my 3rd trimester of pregnancy. I’m now 3 months post partum and still on 200mg a day which the dr is t trying to get me off.
My question however is, I have read that labetalol can cause heart failure?! Is this correct because it’s making me quite anxious to keep taking it.
Any advice and support would be great!
Thank you

Hello coincidentally my husband is in the hospital because he was taking lisiniprol for his high blood pressure and it made his potassium levels way too high which caused his heart to beat irregularly. He was extremely dehydrated as well. The cause he was told is the lisiniprol, which is the same class of medicine. Not trying to scare you just wanted to inform you. You can detail your doctor more about it
It's possible to have side-effects but not common. The pharmaceutical companies have to list any potential side-effect, no matter how slim the chances are of having it in order to protect themselves. Your anxiety can easily blow things out of proportion so be aware when doing it and try to balance things out for yourself.
