I'm currently on the same medication and it has worked although I've been on 225mg daily for a good while and yes it did work for a good while however I might have to go up another notch mg wise as I think like most of them your body gets uses to it and dwindles but yes, I found them quite good.

Venlafaxine XR and Clonazepam hauled me out of a hole 14 years ago, even at low doses. I have generally good results with meds, though. Low doses work, and I don’t develop resistance.

Tapering off venlafaxine was strange, though. People spoke of “brain zaps,” and they’re a thing. Mine felt like quivering jello.

My friend is on venlafaxine 225mg and she is doing very well on them. Give them ago but you may have uncomfortable side effects for a bit depending on how sensitive you are.

I’ve been on venlafaxine since 2003 and they do really work but when your anxiety hits you have to go on a higher dose till the anxiety passes they just give me hot sweats every so often everyone is different they have different symptoms and reactions I was on 225mg a day but I tried to taper off them but the side effects was too strong I thing it’s cuz I’ve been on them so very long but im now down to 37.5mg twice a day now they’ve gave me my life back when all was so bad and dark

Hi Ralph, I have to say it is a good medication. It will give you energy and help with anxiety.I stopped because of hot flashes and weight gain. The withdrawal was horrible too...so please be cautious if you don't seem to be reacting well to it...I would try to get off it as quickly as possible. My brother tried it also and it gave him brain zaps and he also put on weight. We both had problems with it that seemed to outweigh it's benefits. I wish I could have dealt with the side effects because your outlook on life and general mood do improve but everything is a catch 22.

You might get your hormones, thyroid and adrenals checked out to see if they are functioning properly. If not, they can cause or contribute to anxiety/depression.

I had a setback last spring and had my testosterone checked. It turned out it was super low and I started taking shots. I also found out I was on the wrong thyroid med for hypothyroid and switched that. I started feeling better after about 4 weeks,
