Itchy, tingling, crawling skin

Hi everyone I’ve been struggling with strange symptoms ever since my allergy attack happened with sushi 2 weeks ago. Now I get this weird itchy, prickly sensation all over my body. I don’t think I have allergies anymore since I’m not sniffling, no sneezing, no rash or redness. I seen the doctor maybe 5 times trying to get blood work and an mri. So far I’ve checked:

-liver enzymes, kidney metabolites, thyroid 3 times, bilirubin, b12, folate

Any other ideas, it’s bothering me so much but I noticed while sleeping I don’t feel it and while I’m drinking. But any other times I feel it.

Hi sidxolove, I am not a doctor but was wondering if you've been checked for parasites? x

Not I haven’t but it’s pretty unlikely I’d say

I had the exact same thing recently and it drove me up the walls with frustration. However if your path follows

Same way mine did, slowly this will ease. I had the itching without the rash for a good few weeks after the inital visible rash had gone. Also my skin was horribly dry and flaky. This is finally completely gone. Make sure you use a good emollient tonsootj the skin, try not to scratch if possible because you could damage the skin and end up with a skin infection. Take an anti histamine every day like Cetirizine. That will really help calm things down: you can even double it to two a day but check with your gp before you exceed the stated does because obviously I don’t know your medical history.

All the best

Bon

I get it too. I first noticed it a few years ago when I quit taking benzos. i thought that it would go away after awhile being off of them but it continued. I was also on an antidepressant and got off of that but still had the itching. Like you I have tried many different things, thyroid, mthfr, sibo diet, parasite tests, nerve disorder, etc... and still have it. The only thing I have found is taking a Claritin pill about once a week lessens the itching and makes it tolerable. Mine itching is the worst when I take a shower and the temperature change on the skin before drying off. I also have a dry mouth/tongue sometimes, don't know if it's related.

I noticed mine is significant after a shower too. You think it’s due to the temperature change? Mine kinda was not as noticeable yesterday but then after I took a hot shower I felt prickly. I might see a doctor to find ways to lessen it. I take antihistamines daily

I'm not sure about the temperature issue but i'm still trying to figure it out and can't help but think it is related somehow. I even tried working with a functional medicine practitioner but ended up at a dead end. She wasn't very good and I have since learned that someone can call themselves a functional medicine person even after only taking one module of the training. If you go that route, make sure they have taken all of the modules of the training. My experience so far is that this issue is not something easily identified by conventional medicine but I could be wrong, which is why I pursued working with the functional medicine person.

I'd be interested to know what you find out.
