Day 11 on fluoxetine and I’m still having the worst morning anxiety. My sleeping hasn’t been so great either, I’m exhausted and loosing weight. Someone please tell me this gets better

I can't tell it will or won't get better because chemistry is so different between individuals. I like to think if the symptoms are not improving or become intolerable then don't wait until 3 weeks are up. Get back in touch with your prescriber to discuss your circumstances. There are alternatives, unfortunately it's trial and error.

I was on them last year. For about 10 months and they helped so much. So much so that I stopped taking them in April. Bad idea. I just can’t remember it being this bad the last time, the mornings are the worst

Hi lovely, you already know being on these recently that they take longer, like 4-6 weeks to really start taking effect. You probably need to give if more time. Try and do alternative methods to help like meditation, I downloaded an easy to use on Google play 2 days ago which helps. Maybe try and concentrate on an area of the body that is tense and have gently massaged by someone or acupuncture to help you relax. Some restful music like listening to dolphins sounds etc. Mindfulness is also very helpful. Remember that you will improve and your appetite will return. Eat little but often to give you the right amount of nutrition and drink water for maintaining hydration. Try and keep to normal routines and do things slowly. I have never had fluoxetine so cannot help there but have the belief that if it helped you before it will again x keep strong and get meditating

Thank you so much for your reply. I think my anxiety is just at it’s peak the now and I’m really struggling x

Yes definitely- it takes a bit of time but it does have really good results. The mornings are usually the worst, but don’t think it will always be like this, give at least 3-4 weeks to notice the improvement.
