New job, first day, not Good 😩

Today was my first day at a job I was Excited about getting. I think her expectations were too High or was it a Test to see IF I could do the job? Orientation was mostly on the computer about 9 hours. Her explaining what I was suppose to do was spoken REAL FAST. The computer was Freezing and sometimes wouldn’t download. I Hated having to call her. I would apologize for calling her, she didn’t give me Any Reassurance/Support. Then had me on the sales floor to do what they call “Go Backs “. I was trained for about 10 minutes, it was SO confusing what I was suppose to do? Again I had ask her Help, IF she had spent more time training me it would have gone better? I didn’t finish with the Go Backs. I did the BEST I could. So let’s SEE? 😞

First days in a new job are nearly always difficult and worse if the trainer does recognize the difficulties newbies face, especially when new computer systems are involved

I am hoping you feel better after a good night's sleep. Hoping you can ask for a refresher of your learning tomorrow. Start your request with an I need to go over a couple of things from yesterday and name them .....

Thanks, She was the manager, I’m Not sure when I’m going Back? I won’t get my schedule till tomorrow. I won’t be able to sleep? My Whole body is Hurting, I’m 65. I’ll try. 😷🙏

Congratulations with getting your job! You were probably nervous your first day! Maybe for the second day, just ask her to explain things a little more detailed and ask a lot of questions if you don’t understand somethings. Give yourself a break with your learning, you can do this but as I said ask lots of questions.

Thanks for your support, I did, she didn’t seem to like it? The thing is that she’s the one who was giving me the information. So it would be like criticizing her? I just know I did the BEST I could. It was better than Pretending? 😷
