I was just in the bathroom about to brush my teeth when I felt the urge to burp. As I burped, vomit came up and I felt like I was choking. As I grasped for air and tried to swallow back down, I felt like I aspirated some of that vomit into my lungs.
Being the health freak that I am, I googled this and it said symptoms begin minutes to TWO hours after aspiration occurs so of course i’m waiting for my death. After I read all of that, I felt like I started having trouble breathing and had the urge to cough. I’m still trying to clear my throat because it feels funny but i’m still an anxious mess.
Please, somebody tell me they’ve had an experience with aspiration and survived because i’m literally gonna wait for 2-3 hours to see if I survive this. I was reading a lot of people don’t even realize they’ve aspirated and end up dying. Somebody please help me. I don’t know what to do.

Sounds like heart burn.
It takes a lot to get something into your lungs. I’ve had a foreign object go into my right lung back in Junior High, trust the fact that if something goes into your lungs that isn’t supposed to be there, you’ll know it. Try to relax, you’re fine, it’s the anxiety. I hope you’ve calmed by now and it’s passed. 🌺💜
I’m going to the GI this Tuesday and hopefully they can figure out why I keep feeling like this. But I survived the day! Thank you for your reply. It’s very much appreciated!
First of all aspiration usually happens to people that have a stroke and can't swallow probably their saliva . My father got it all the time you dont easily die from it. You probably have a little reflux take an an antacids see if it helps. You didn't aspirate
Sounds like heartburn. I had an upper gi done and found I had Barrett's disease. Where the stomach and esophagus meets. Seem to have acid coming from stomach into the esophagus. Thus this causes a burning sensation because of the acid. Also I've had food or whatever come back up. Very annoying and scary.
