hello guys ive been suffering with GAD from past four years having problem in breathing(gasping/sighing).
Due to corona virus now its bad and i compulsively gasp or sigh or breathe deep with my mouth feeling air is not getting in my chest. sometimes i confuse it with my asthma which is very mild but now my anxiety is inducing wheezing because i sigh and take deep breathes all day which hurts my chest. my chest feels tight too from sternum.
ive seen pulmonologists ,GPs,rushed to ER, got cbc, thyroid, vitamin d done but all clear but now i cant sleep due to gasping too much.i think i have a serious problem with my lungs when i get panic attacks
ive been on asthamatic nebulizers, loratadine, montelukast, theophylline, xanax too which puts me in sleep but breathing doesnt get better either ways
i have no problems in walking but get palpitations sometimes
can anyone relate?

I relate 1000000%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had Covid an my panic attacks were always breathing related and I feel as though they are worse than ever now!! I keep my pulse ox handy to help me know that I am ok and I now, against my own will, take 1/2 Xanax in the morning no matter what and another 1/2 after dinner to keep the HORRIFIC attacks from coming and if I need more during the day I take it... I am now 25 days post Covid so I do not think its related, but its always in the back of my head. I have benign palpitations because of hormones (cardiologist informed me) and when I have an attacl, I MUST walk, if I sit it gets so much worse. The hardest thing is that pre-Covid, I worked out every morning and the endorphins seem to help keep panic attacks at bay. My doctor will not allow me to work out for another 60 days so rough times... here if you need me. xoxoxo
