So I spoke to a doctor on the phone yesterday and I said about my chest pain he said you ain’t having a heart attack michaela it be different if you was 55 but your 25 he think it’s might be gastroenteritis and something called costochondritis he said you have had cardiology appointments in 2017 everything was normal it’s just stress with the news you have had with your mum and just anxiety but how can he tell all of that over the phone he hasn’t listened to my chest or heard my heart.. my chest is still killing me! He gave me stomach tablets and just told me to take paracetamol for pain.. I just think surely if it was a heart attack it would of happened there and then , but just as soon as I get chest pain you automatically think heart attack just need to STOP OVERTHINKING but it’s so hard it’s driving me insane when I woke up this morning my chest cracked

When you have health anxiety like us we dwell on one area and need constant reassurance if your worried go down to a+e and get checked over for peace of mind..when my mum was diagnosed with cancer I was the same i couldn't shake it off for years and got worse when I lost her its traumatising to go though this at any age

I do know that you probably not having a heartattack but your anxiety will convince you otherwise anxiety are terrible to argue with

Hope this helps

Nat xx

Hello :-)

How times have changed

Now it seems we cannot get to see a Doctor no matter what either things are done via phone , internet or even sending pictures in and for us that have a fear or Health Anxiety it is feeding us even more with the "what if's" because they have not seen us and checked us over so I feel for you as I have HA and know what it is like

I am not sure if our words will help as when you are fixed on something nothing anyone says takes away that fear even when we could get to see the Doctor it would help but only for a short while

Mind you I love how you Doctor said you are 25 not 55 and I am sat here with HA at 57 :-o

Doctors still owe us a care of duty even though times have changed how they are giving it to us due to covid

They have are records test results and I would think they would be very silly to tell us we are ok if they thought for one minute we needed looking at

We have muscles all in our bodies even the chest and the more anxious and focused in on something the tighter those muscles get which results in pain which then results in more anxiety believing what we were already fearing is true as now we can feel something

Did you say that you had tests back in 2017 ? if so this would be a very long heart attack , you would go down in history ! ( trying to make you smile )

I think and I am not a Doctor so it is just my opinion as a HA sufferer that you have HA and it has decided to target the fear of you having a heart attack

Try going on you tube , looking at relaxation and meditation , it is hard to relax when we are so tense but with practice it can help :-)

Have you tried counselling , you could self refer or ask your Doctor to ?

If you really do think that you don't relate to what we are saying you do have the option as Nat says of going to A&E , if this will be the only way to calm yourself down then maybe it would be an idea and once they had given you the all clear then focus on how you need to move on with getting help for you HA :-)

Take Care x

Reading this made me feel such relief. I am definitely a suffer of HA, dwelling on the side effects of everything, and struggling with letting go of the “what if’s” and now more than ever its hard to get that peace of mind from the doctor especially during this crazy pandemic...definitely not belong with the HA 😂

Hello :-)

There are quite a few of us on here suffering with HA and I think covid seems to have triggered us of even more

Every day I dwell on the what if's not good at all as it makes you so miserable but once you start it is so hard to stop

You are not alone and I hope just knowing others are the same and here to talk makes a little difference for you :-) x

It makes all the difference! Thank you ❤️

Hi I went to doctors when I was having panic attacks when under major stress especially in bed my heart was pounding rapidly and I thought I was having heart attack deep breathing helps and hipnosis Paul mackenna cd if you look him up I used to wake up in the night and keep putting it on it always got me to sleep, I went to doctors one time and he said I could have beta blockers to regulate my beats but as it wasn't consistent and I have a fear of medications I find it more stressful taking medication as I worry about the side effects, keeping busy will help anything that can distract your mind, laughter is the best medicine if you can get interested in some comedy on TV I hope you find some peace soon x🦋I will send you my scotch butterfly my spiritual helper I hope one visits you soon
