19 years old - diagnose with hiatal hernia

Hi,

Last year I was admitted to hospital after throwing up buckets of blood (very scary experience) anyway I got diagnosed with a hiatal hernia (sliding) after a endoscopy and colonoscopy. It’s been a while now and i get acid reflux and heartburn now and again but the real problem I have is a constant shortness of breath which affects me. I have also had permanent lightheaded/dizziness for around 2 years now and I’m not sure if it’s related or something different as the doctors don’t have a clue. I have a few questions if someone could help I would really appreciate it:

- will my hiatal hernia get worse over time?

- Is it likely the hernia that is causing the shortness of breath?

- could it also be causing the constant lightheadedness and feeling of faintness? If not do you know what that could be?

I also was diagnosed with a hiatal hernia after an endoscopy. I do have shortness of breath from time to time. As well as heartburn. Could be the cause. Are you overweight? Doc said bigger waistline can make symptoms worse because of pressure on hernia.

Oh thank you. No I’m not overweight I’m fairly skinny due to a fast metabolism I eat a lot but can’t put weight on
