Hi everyone! Have just joined this community. Have had anxiety/panic disorder for 22 years, 15 of which have been on citalopram 20mg. My doctor upped me to 30mg 12 days ago. Had initial nausea, poor sleep and appetite, all of which have mostly passed. Have horrible morning anxiety though - any advice/help? Thank you!

Hi first of all welcome to the site sorry for delay in writing back after many years being off the site I have returned. I have had anxiety and panic attacks for many years so I can sympathise with you. This can put the brakes on your life if you allow it to the mind is such a powerful tool.

I have been on Citalopram for years started off on 10mg now on 20mg I have found being on this just helps me get through the day. I recently list my Dad and in the last three weeks lost my uncle and cousin so the mind goes into overdrive. Then I sit and ponder worrying about things I have no control over.

Sometimes we feel in a dark place then we recall fight or flight and I start to do some breathing techniques which does help.

Please feel free to contact me anytime but please take the Citalopram the Doctor has prescribed it will help.

Take care hugs x

Hi I cannot understand why I am writing and my replies are not being posted.

I have been on Citalopram for years for anxiety and panic attacks. I am on 20mg at present moment due to increase from 10mg after my Dad passed away. Usually Citalopram can take six weeks to start feeling the effects. Also do some breathing techniques that breathing in though your nose and out your mouth. Hope you feel better anytime you fancy a chat I’m available hugs xxxx
