I’ve posted twice this week, no replies from anyone. My anxiety has been at its all time high. I had my first panic attack tonight, I haven’t had one in 3 months. Bc I feel like something is stuck in my throat, but I’ve ate food, drank soda, water, I’ve thrown up 5 times, I’ve tried everything. And it’s worrying me and I can’t fall asleep.

Panic attacks are so bad. I've had my share.

My anxiety shows me up in my throat like a lump in my throat. It also shows up I my stomach.

Could it be anxiety or do you really think something is lodged in there? If thats the case you should call your md.

I mean if it was something lodged in there I fell like it would’ve loosened by now. I hadn’t ate since about 7 hours ago and it started acting up about 3 hours ago, I wasn’t even drinking anything. I used to be paranoid I had popcorn kernels in my throat when I was younger but nothing would be there. So I’m not sure. I also have acid reflux which people say can create a false sense of something lodged. But it’s more like where my tongue meets my throat, not in my throat. And it feels like dog hair.

Chances are it's anxiety or possibly your gerd.

I follow all my thoughts with a comment to see the md. I just feel more comfortable leaving a conversation that way.

Hi, sorry to hear the big A is back. I will share a technique taught to me by a psychologist. It's called 🏄‍♂️surfing your anxiety. You are on your surfboard waiting till the big wave of anxiety comes. The wave builds until it breaks 🌊(anxiety peaks). Now the wave breaks and you can ride the wave back to the beach and back to calmer waters. Your body can only tolerate the peak of anxiety for 20 seconds or so. Recognizing this, count to 20 or time yourself while coming back to land.⛱ Really simple ideas but with practice they work.

Thank you all for your comments! I really appreciate it. I was digging through my mouth today and it looks like I have a sore on the side of my tongue that I’m pretty sure is the culprit.

Hi, I’m hoping you’re feeling a bit better since you posted this.

Anxiety runs heavy in my family & I was one of the lucky ones that didn’t have to deal w/ it until death hit my family. Panic attacks almost every day, general anxiety, always thinking something is wrong with me.

As far as feeling like something stuck in your throat did you eat anything that could of scratched it? That happened to me a few months ago & I swore something was stuck for a few days then the feeling gradually went away & despite everyone telling me I probably just scratched it my anxiety was thinking everything else under the sun but indeed I only scratched it.

Also to echo others it could be Gerd. I suffer from that as well & that can be an awful feeling.

I used to have this sensation with my anxiety disorder. Medically, it's referred to as globulus hystericus. Google it and see if it doesn't hit the nail on the head and then download a copy of "Hope and Help for Your Nerves" by Claire Weekes. She explains in great detail what this sensation it, what causes it and how to accept it and move on. It really helped me.

You should read “hope and help for your nerves”. By Claire weekes. Check out that anxiety guy on you tube. Everything you are experiencing are symptoms of anxiety. They are very normal. Acceptance is key. Accept your symptoms without fighting. Change will not happen overnight. You need to practice for sometime and eventually you can recover from anxiety.

Sorry that you had such a hard time of it. I hope that you are feeling better today. Anxiety can be overwhelming at times...do you have any coping strategies that usually help with your anxiety? I know that in the midst of a panic attack, it is often difficult to utilize these. Louie Giglio used to sing when he woke with panic attacks. I recommend his teaching I Lift my Hands. Hope today is a better day!
