Anybody else get a tight choking feeling in your neck/throat/upper chest with anxiety? Upper back muscles super tight too. I keep catching myself shallow breathing or even holding my breath.
Tight, choking feeling: Anybody else get a... - Anxiety Support
Tight, choking feeling
lovemybear, a very common symptom of anxiety which is holding ourselves
stiff and tense. First thing to do is bring your shoulders down away from your
ears. Then slowly and deeply inhale, that's right. From there exhale long and
slow to release all the stress and tightness. You are safe.
Try watching this video on YouTube, it will help relax your muscles.

I went through it too. Turns out I had a muscular deficiency. Took me a long time, but the muscle issue is the root of my anxiety trigger. Working out ofterhelped me a lot. I'm on top of the anxiety and panic attacks!
Yes had that for sometime . Also have post nasal drip as well as the tight throat and neck muscles. The combination of all of these make for a challenging day but I am so used to it now that I no longer panic about it as it has not changed for a long time .
I'm afraid I don't have a solution but suggest checking to see if you have reflux or post nasal drip.
Interesting you say that because I do have reflux and during the last week am fighting a cold.
All the time, sometimes it tightens up so much and I feel I can't talk right and then I think I have terrifying disease.
yes, it was so bad I would pull on the skin on my neck.....
it didn't stop until I found an anti depressant that worked and Ive never been bothered by them since.
