Do you ever feel like you have to lay there and focus on breathing? Like make yourself breathe or you feel like you’ll stop breathing. It’s hard to stop focusing on it and let yourself breathe naturally again. Do you get what I’m saying?

Breathing
Yes, I have a mucus problem and I go through the same thing you describe. I use mucinex and inhalers. They help but the problem is still there. Good luck and God bless.
Yes!! I experience this everyday I hate it alot
This is the exact reason i just signed up to this site. Ive never had this before (im almost 34), and am in good health, although carrying a couple of extra pounds from the Christmas over indulgence.
But this came on yeesterday for me, during the day. Driving home i suddenly noticed it and started to hyperventilate very slowly, got tunnel vision and a tightening of the chest a little. I was then fully concious of the need to breathe all afternoon/evening until i finally managed to get to sleep. I woke twice in the night and immediately started to think about having to breathe again, and it has continued this morning also.
Having googled it, everything points to it being anxiety related, but i dont know if this is the case as ive never experienced anxiety before, so dont know if this is it or not. Any advice?
Take that feeling and learn to focus on deep breathing. It will actually calm you down.
I do meditation and yoga. I learned breathing techniques by doing both.
This is fairly common, take deep breaths. However this does not mean big breaths!
A deep breath is when you breathe in and your stomach goes out.
A big breath is when your chest and shoulder go up and out.
Lying down, place a book on your chest and your hands on your stomach. Breathe in through the nose and feel the breath go to where you feel the heat from your hands. If the book goes up and down you are not making the most of what you’ve got!
Practice three or four times a day. Give yourself a few minutes before you sit up as this type of breathing can make you feel light headed - which is a sign you’ve done it right as your brain is getting more oxygen due to this technique. As you do it right more often your body adjusts and light headedness vanishes.
Peace!
