Breathing?: Does anybody else get moments... - Anxiety Support
Breathing?
Breathing is a totally automatic action so you don't need or should be concentrating on it. Your breathig isn't going to suddenly stop you know so try and stop worrying about it. It isn't possible. x
Your body will always step in if for any reason you stop breathing, that is a standard procedure, your lungs etc, need to breath. You can possibly take the problem as some form of Anxiety, however not happy, see your Doctor

Yes! I know exactly what you mean. Instead of hyperventilating, i hold my breath and it’s a terrible habit. I’m constantly doing it and sometimes I really feel like I need to focus on my breathing. When I’m focusing I feel like I’m forcing breaths out. But as someone else said, breathing is automatic. If I were to hold my breath for too long, a reflex would kick in, making me breath again. So if you’re worried about this just know your body has reflexes that are looking out for you.

This happens to me all the time, especially when I’m trying to go to bed. I’m not aware of my breathing until all of a sudden I am. Am I breathing enough, am I breathing to much, am I taking deep enough breaths? It’s a struggle to fall asleep some nights.
I have dysautonomia and that causes me to have dis regulated breathing. The autonomic nervous system controls breathing (as well as many other bodily functions) and it’s pretty awful when basic things such as breathing are affected, so I know the feeling.
