Glad I found this thread.
I've been experiencing this pain in episodes at least twice a year when I was young and as an adult now, I still get it once or twice every 2 to 3 years.
Been to doctors, specialists and they sent me for all sorts of tests. CAT scan, ultrasound etc and they never found what was wrong with me.
I've always kept an eye on forums and discussions on this pain mainly because it bothers me that the pain stops me from physical activities.
I finally found something new recently. A patient seemed to have gotten his ''conditions" relieved. The conditions many of us are facing.
If it helps I hope you'll show this to your doctor/ surgeon whomever with an open mind and hopefully they'll hear you out.
