I don't think I have Gerd, but I'll share what I know. I accidentally found out that ground flaxseed helps with acidic stomach and excessive burping. If it's bad, I drink flaxseed tea, which is just about a tablespoon of flax and warm water. I'll eat oats and ground flaxseed (estimated ratio 1.5oats:1flaxseed) for breakfast regularly, like 4 or 5 times a week.

I did a 2 or 3 day liquid fast to help empty out my gut. This really helped, I felt like it was kind of a reset.

After the fast, limit the size of your meals. Maybe eat more often, but shrink your intake.

Do light exercise activities. At least break a sweat for 30 mins 4 days a week. Drink lots of water.

To find out for sure what might be the cause of all your upper gastric issues you could have an endoscopy or an easier one, the barium swallow. I had this done and found out that I have reflux which causes what I have eaten to only go part of the way down my esophagus. After eating a big meal I had a lot of coughing, and felt as though I might have been allergic to something. I was prescribed zantac or OTC ranitidene 2 times a day, preferably before meals. I also have had lots of gas from what I eat, but not as bad as before I began taking the zantac. I have difficulty digesting beans, flaxseed, milk products, onions, cabbage, etc. so after eating those things I take a beano type product to eliminate the gas. The chewable version of that usually takes care of the immediate gas an pain when I forget to take something. I usually do not have the burning acid reflux, only the backing up, and not fully going down issues. Doctors have told my husband that zantac is very, very safe to use several times a day, if needed. He has acid reflux and has been on prilosec for over 10 years. It has bad side effects over time, and he has tried to cut down on taking it, but it is very difficult to ever come off of. Of course, the doctor also told him that those side effects are still better than to end up with esophageal cancer from taking nothing. Hope you find relief.
