Costochronditis

So I went to the hospital a few weeks ago for constant chest pressure that was literally so scary and uncomfortable. I had a chest X-ray, ekg, and blood work done. They diagnosed me with Costochondritis and told me to take ibuprofen. This morning my chest is killing me and I’m really nervous but I’m trying not to go back to the ER because every time i go it’s nothing. 😔

I have been told by my local A+E ,"if I am feeling ill and I am worried and unable to get my DR to see me then call them" they will tell me what to do. Never be afraid you are wasting their time, because I have been told by the A+E DR,s that although they don't want time wasters or hypochondriac,s they would rather see them than ignore them because there could be a time when they have something serious wrong with them and they would rather check them over than have an unnecessary death on their hands. I don't know if they all feel that way?

Good advice. My local ER get tired of me. 😆 it has calmed a bit now so if it’s still as bad tomorrow I’m sadly going to get checked over and make sure it’s still nothing.

You're okay. Diagnosed with the same thing had all kinds of tests, blood work, EKG, etc..

Been to a chiropractor and accupuncture. All helps but doesn't cure the problem. Taking ibuprofen is temporary too. There are times when I roll over in bed and it hurts my chest. Not sure what else to do..I don't know if your body will heal on it's own. Be safe.Take care..

How does your costochronditis feel? Mines always like a heavy pressure in the center of my chest like between my breasts, and it sometimes hurts when I breathe.

Not much pressure but hurts when I breathe, sneeze or some type of

movement, shoulder or arm. Pain mostly in the chest right side of the sternum.

There is a rib from the sternum that hurts as well when I touch it. feels like muscle or tendon. Also there is pain at the top center of the sternum that hurts when I touch it as well. Hope this makes sense. Some days are better than others.

It definitely makes sense. I also get a pain in one of my ribs, which is weird and I had no idea it could be related. Not so much when I touch it, but it’s definitely there too. Mine comes randomly, but i hope today is one of those better days for you.

I totally understand. Do you work out or done anything strenuous to aggrevate your chest muscles?

I don’t! Which is another reason it strikes me as odd. But I’ve been to ER with the same pain sometimes worse than others and it’s never anything sinister.

I am going through alot of things you are the chest pressure the latest thing. How does it exactly feel because im scared 😨 out of my mind my lungs are messed up . i have thought costochondrits but then i think bad stuff does it mess with you're breathing at all? And sorry this is late lol you posted 5 months ago...
