Healing ridge after hernia repair

a week ago I had surgery to repair an inguinal hernia. In the past few days I’ve noticed that there is a hard swelling underneath the scar. Reading up online it sounds like it could be a “healing ridge”. Has anyone else encountered this and what does it feel like?

Hi, this is a normal part of wound healing after surgery. It will gradually soften over 2-3 months. Nothing to worry about.

Thanks, I’ve been getting concerned that it was a further hernia
