You've had a good workup. Are the md telling you it's from stress?

Are you drinking enough fluid? I suffer migraine and for me drinking fluids help.

Please get tested. My husband does get headaches if he doesn't wear his cpap. He's very diligent about it but he's not able to wear it if he has a cold etc

Sleep apnea, untreated, can cause high blood pressure and cardiac issues.

Please get tested.

Ask your MD. See what they say. A lot of people have it for awhile but if you don't talk about your snoring etc your MD may not think to test for it.

Good luck

Yea but i dont think its what’s causing tension 24/7, and i feel less tension laying down resting.when i Start moving around it turns in to a dull headache, sometimes a bad one.

Recently (starting about 7months ago), I had a similar scenario with tension all over my body. I'm pretty fit and active, so I ignored it thinking it would pass. Eventually, it led to full on panic attacks and plenty of doctor visits. MRIs, Xrayss, Ultrasounds, and most doctors said I was healthy and to "Leave, you're fine." Some prescribed antianxiety/antidepressants. Medication so what helped, but I'm a bit biased because I don't believe it's a would address th root of my issue. This, along with its negative side effects I decided to ONLY take meds as a final solution.

So, early-on in the battle, the only solution I used to to deal with the panic episodes and tension was to lay down flat on my back and relax. ---Longer story short (pm me if you want more info)-- I found out that I have been overtraining my chest for YEARS! This led to me continually holding tension throughout my entire body to address the tight chest muscles. The tension was felt mainly in my head (mad tension headaches!), neck (continual), and shoulders, in my chest, arms and hands. With the help of a pretty good physiotherapist and clinic I started addresses my tight chest and weak but extremely TIGHT back muscles. Its definitely still a work in progress, for example if I take 2 days off from my theraputic routine. I start to hold tension again. So, I'm still trying to mend my way through this, but I rarely feel tension anymore. Even if I do feel tension, I at least know what to do to relieve it and get back to life.

Hope this helps, keep searching for your solution and hope you feel better soon.

Thank you for sharing this. I believe the tension I am holding in my body from a traumatic accident fuels my anxiety and headaches. I'm using myofascidal release (John Barnes Method). It's slow going. I agree that meds don't address root cause and are a bundle of side effects. I love that in your case it wasn't all in your head - it was in your chest. Keep healing.

I'll try my best, and same to you! I'll have to check John Barnes Method out. Thanks for sharing.

Frankinhealth19 - when I read your post..... About 5 years ago I was rear ended 2 times in a car never went to the ER I felt fine... Probably between February and march 2018 my neck started to hurt bad. Then may 2018 woke up my vision was off for 3 days I could feel my neck getting tight. I did work out all the time. So After self diagnosing on Google bad to do. Many doctors later i was told from my traps muscles up were so tight it was gonna be a long road. But in the meantime anxiety/panic attacks set in that don't help the muscles. I was told alot of the tightness was whiplash effecting me years later.

Yea, Dr. GOOGLE was not good to use early on, but.. we've got to start somewhere. It did teach me that my SCM muscle was (sometimes still is) the main source of my neck pain. Stretching and massaging that area has benn a major help. Have you found out how to address your muscles yet??

I was in physical therapy from June til January. I just do the stretches they showed me. I go to my chiropractor once a month now. The splenius cervicis and Sternocleidomastoid Muscle are not my friends. I had to do a lot of research on the muscles. And your correct DR GOOGLE isn't good at all. From what im told I always had anxiety issues but I handled it vut once I got on Google it went into overdrive pure anxiety and panic attacks for a year without me reaching out for real help and telling my PCP all my symptoms not holding any back.

As I was told this will be a long road. Thank you. PM you where?

This is interesting, because I also have the right back muscles EVERYDAY and then get tension headaches, tight neck muscles, etc.... how did they figure this out exactly!? I’m wondering if this is what is causing my asthma to be so bad lately (or so I think it’s my asthma?) hmmmm

FrankinHealth19 profile image

They didn't actually figure it out. Initially, I only complained about pain in the right side of my neck and shoulders, so that's what they addressed. As I focused on what the physiotherapist told me to do, the pain seemingly bounce around my body almost in a triangle. For 2 days my neck would be tight, then for 3 days my shoulder would be tight, then for 2 days my chest would be tight (I don't have asthma, but when the tension is in my chest it feels as if I do have asthma[--according to Dr. GOOGLE it was COPD--I'm glad to say this self-prognosis was WRONG!]).

It was frustrating. Once they helped me work through the neck and shoulders. If I was lucky, I would be amost totally relieved for 1 maybe 2 days after the physio-directed routine. But no matter how many times I continued doing the stretches/movements they showed me. Within 24-48hrs another muscle group on the same side of my body would be debilitating painful. I couldn't go to a physiotherapist everyday and I didn't want this tension anymore; so, I had to get back to research (the return of Dr. GOOGLE). I searched information about the other feelings I had (of course I found a bunch of crap). Slowly, but surely I pieced together my own set theraputic stretches to add to the physio-directed routine.

Then I had a moment of epiphany!! "My body wasn't trying to play a game with me, and maybe was trying to alert me to the real issues," I just failed to realize it for 2 months or so, that these pains, aches, and this tension was the result of an imbalance in my muscles groups, not just my neck, my shoulder or back. So instead of waiting on the doctor or physiotherapist I figured out that my chest was the culprit through Trial-by-Error and the realization that I severely overtrained.

As serious as anxiety is and the effects I felt were I think for me its simply a case of the childhood classic:

🎶🎵🎶

The foot bone’s connected to the leg bone.

The leg bone’s connected to the knee bone.

The knee bone’s connected to the thigh bone......

🎶🎵🎶

Except instead of the bone-song, I dealing with the connections and more so the imbalances in between my muscle groups.

Currently, I think I have something called "Upper Cross Syndrome" or something very similar because from what I've read, it matches my situation almost too perfectly. With that being said I have now added about 3 more stretches to my therapeutic routine and I do it 3 times daily (morning, mid-day, and night), so-far it's done the trick and I've had no tension headaches for about 2 weeks now. I finally feel like I'm winning. I know that it'll still take some time to build muscle in the proper places and get back to near-normal, but this is the only time in the past 7 months that I have been in control of all of my symptoms and without holding tension. I'll see if my physiotherapist will confirm this Upper Cross Syndrome theory sometime this week.

So, I think that maybe it's not your asthma, but a tight group of muscles that are screaming out to you. You just gotta find out which ones they are, and get the proper tools to take care of them.

Could be stress. Stress can cause all types of aches and pains.

Might be chronic migraine. It's what I have and it causes constant head tension and anxiety
