Just wondering if anyone has the same anxiety triggers I do? I feel like no one else has so many and I feel like a loser.

1. Getting a hair color in a salon. I can do it at home, but if I'm in a Salon I'm convinced I'm having an allergic reaction.

2. The dentist. My heart rate skyrockets from the epinephrine in the numbing injection. Even when they try w/o the epi I get anxious and heart pounds out of my chest

3. Doctors appts and waiting for lab results

4. Hot/humid weather

5. Airplanes

There are so many more. Just need some support right now 🙁

4 & 5 are some triggers for me. I once boarded a plane, but got right off because I was having an anxiety attack. I thought something bad was going to happen. I couldn’t do it

I can handle the salon, but absolutely right there with you on the rest. Especially the dentist, I plan to medicate myself before I go next time. My bp is always high at the dentists office, now I know it's because my anxiety is skyrocketing :-/

What I hate is when I have a panic attack at random. I cope much better when I can identify what is causing it.

Best of luck to you!

2-5 are me! I had no idea about the numbing injection! Same thing happened to me but I convinced myself that I was just crazy. That makes me feel better that I’m not crazy. It’s a horrid feeling.

All of these are triggers for me. Also the gym, fluorescent lights, so many more things. It gets worse and worse I swear.

Yes fluorescent lights for me too😐

I always hated hair cuts because I felt stuck in a chair waiting to be done.

Dentistry and everything associated with it is the devil. When I go, there is going to be fast acting medication and laughing gas involved.....without a doubt.

Doctor's appointments....at this point just annoy me. I go to hear the same stuff. The labs can be a bit scary and white coat syndrome is absolutely a thing. It's understandable. While not quite the devil dentistry is, I am not an enormous fan :)

Hot humid weather makes me miserable...and I live in Texas...home of heat, humidity, and misery....and also BBQ. Nothing about heat and humidity makes anxiety better. Am I sweating because I should be or because the anxiety? Ugh. I totally get this one.

Planes. I cannot wait until we can beam, upload ourselves, or whatever instead of flying. Only one flight in the last ten years did I feel comfortable on. It was a triple seven (Boeing 777) and was so enormously spacious that I didn't feel like I was on a plane (very key). I was only going from Dallas, TX to Chicago, so the flight took just under two hours. Every other flight, I have had to talk myself through TSA check points (shoes off, belt off, let me see your bag, what's this, eeeeeeeeeeeeeergh) which is stressful enough...now it's time to get onto this claustrophobic's nightmare of a machine. Again, I had to talk myself on, try to maintain while in air, and only feel true relief when the pilot turns on the seat belt sign for arrival. Again, fast acting medication to the rescue. Every trip that I should be excited about is made stressful knowing flight is included. It sucks.

You are not alone, not a loser, and this is all normal for an anxiety sufferer. I have more stuff that makes me anxious (pulse increases, work, no good reason at all, and on and on), so you truly are not alone...so many things to set us off. I hope this helped a little. It has helped me see that there are more of us than we think. Take care for now :)

I hadn't thought about them as triggers until the past year or so, then I realized because it meant going into a crowd of strangers, I had anxiety attacks on leaving the house. Then I began having trouble when my wife and I went out for dinner, classicly, I always felt people were looking at and judging me. And that sent up flares for me, too, and I began to have anxiety attacks. when home with my wife. These were annoying and things I could either ignore or put off. But I more recently 'discovered' that pictures posted with animals or people being severely hurt makes me so anxious I had to ask my friends not to post those kinds of pictures directly to my timeline, etc. I used to be told I was just squeamish, and over-reacting, etc. Now I know better. Most recently I had two experiences that were definitely panic attacks. Adjusting a few things, and that hasn't happened again, or I guess I should say yet. The first one I got sick for a day and a half. The second one I couldn't keep my balance for all the tea in China, every few seconds when the panic began to settle down, I still felt for several days that I would fall every other second. I felt crazy. hope this helps
